Two things I detest, ok 3
Not to start off the day on a negative note, because I am not reallly in a bad mood, but I was just reminded of one of these topics a second ago.
3 Things I Hate
1. Excercise machines. They are the devil incarnante. They are the most boring things on earth. I’d rather be pulling my hair out than working out on one of them. (C.C. convinced me try try last night. Let’s just say it didn’t work out real well.)
2. People who lean on their carts in the store. I know you know the type…most often woman-often overweight who lean over and hang on the from of their cart with their butts sticking out. To me that just SCREAMS: “Look at me I”m a lazy American!” It’s a basket to carry your shit, not a walker you lazy asses!
3. Those verification boxes where you type the letters before you can submit something (say a comment to a blog). I understand the reason for their presence, but I hate that they are often so difficult to see that I can’t read them-let alone type them.
4. Ok, I have to add a fourth. As I am typing this I turned on the heat in our building and now I am practically high from the smell. We rent our office from some guys who keep this building as a auto shop for their sports cars. They apparently have been doing some painting lately because the smell in here is overwhelming.
And we have an open house today. How nice is that going to be? Welcome to our new office-here’s a gas mask for you!

Now some of those people leaning on their carts may really be using them as a walker. Before my dad ended up in a wheelchair, he used a walker, and before that, a cane. But when we went grocery shopping, he’d put his cane in the cart and use the cart as his walker. In the last months before he got the wheelchair, it was so bad that I’d bring a cart right to the car door for him, so he could get into the store.
So probably some of the people who annoy you really are just being lazy. But some of them may have legitimate reasons.
I agree with you totally about exercise machines and verification boxes, though!

I do not deny there are some people who legitimatly need to lean on the carts. You can tell by looking who they are and I have NO issue with that.
I am talking about the people who are perfectly able and when they want to, leave the cart and trot away healthy as a horse.
Which seems to be BY FAR the most common thing I see.
